The National Testing Agency (NTA) has clarified that a NEET (UG) 2026 candidate from Nagpur was allotted an examination centre in Abu Dhabi after the city preference was changed using the candidate’s own registered login credentials during the examination-city correction window.

According to the agency, its records indicate that the Abu Dhabi option was selected through the candidate’s account and that the updated choice was subsequently viewed twice through the same login. The clarification comes after reports raised concerns over the allocation of an overseas examination centre to a student from Maharashtra.

NTA said that on June 19 it received an informal request seeking a change of the examination centre from Abu Dhabi to Nagpur. Following the request, officials immediately initiated the necessary process and contacted the candidate’s father to complete the required formalities for the modification.

The agency stated that the centre change was successfully carried out to ensure that the candidate would be able to appear for the examination without difficulty. It reiterated its commitment to a “student-first” approach and said every effort is made to prevent candidates from missing examinations due to administrative issues.

The clarification comes ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, with the agency stressing that candidate welfare and timely resolution of concerns remain its top priorities.
