UP: Man, nephew shot, injured in road rage incident

A man and his nephew were injured after being shot by a car driver following a road rage incident in UP, police said on Monday, August 3. The police revealed that the car driver, Sanjay Shukla, has been detained.  Additional Superintendent of Police (West) Brijnandan Rai said that Saurabh Singh (29), a resident of the Lalganj police station area, had visited Raniganj Kaithola market on Sunday, August 2, night with his nephew, Saksham (23). After parking their scooter near the police outpost and purchasing some items, a dispute arose when their scooter collided with a car.

During the altercation, the driver opened fire, injuring Saurabh and his nephew Saksham. Police arrived at the scene and rushed the injured to the Lalganj Trauma Centre in Azamghar. The doctors referred Saurabh to Prayagraj due to his critical condition, while Saksham was sent home after receiving first aid. Police have detained Shukla, a resident of Pratapgarh, and seized the licensed pistol used in the incident and initiated legal proceedings against him.
