Stolen Vehicles and Firearm Recovered Following Armed Carjacking in Brampton

Region of Peel   – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Central Robbery Bureau have charged three youths in relation to an armed carjacking that occurred in Brampton.

On January 16, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the victim was approaching his parked vehicle located in the area of Dundas Street East and Cawthra Road in the City of Mississauga. Three suspects exited a vehicle that was parked directly beside the victim’s vehicle, confronted the victim at gunpoint, and made a demand for his keys. The victim threw the keys, at which point the suspects pushed the victim to the ground, stole his cell phone, and fled the area in the suspect vehicle. The victim’s vehicle was not stolen.

Members of the Central Robbery Bureau attended the area and located the suspect vehicle parked beside another luxury vehicle. Officers believing that another carjacking was imminent, members of the Central Robbery Bureau, with assistance from the Tactical Unit, initiated a traffic stop. Officers arrested three suspects and located a replica firearm in the accused’s possession. Further investigation revealed that the suspect vehicle was reported stolen on January 4, 2025, from the area of The Gore Road and Castlemore Road in Brampton.

Police have charged three male youths, all 17 years of age, from Brampton with the following offences:

Robbery with a Firearm

Wear Disguise

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and, therefore, the identity of the Young Persons charged in this investigation is protected.
