Five injured in blast at NTPC power plant in Odisha’s Angul

Five contract workers were injured in an explosion at NTPC’s thermal power plant in Odisha’s Angul district in the early hours of Saturday police said.

The blast occurred at around 12:30 a.m. Three of the injured are being treated at NTPC’s hospital while two were moved to Bhubaneswar for advanced medical care.

“A mild explosion injured five workers. All of them were immediately rushed to NTPC hospital” said Sanjukta Khillar inspector in-charge at the NTPC police station adding that three of the workers were in stable condition.

The exact cause of the blast is yet to be established.
