PMML to showcase rare historic documents in new exhibition

The Prime Minister’s Museum and Library (PMML) will open a landmark exhibition titled “The Archives of PMML” on April 1, 2026, at Teen Murti Bhawan. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Nripendra Misra, Chairman of the Executive Council, Prime Minister’s Museum & Library. In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the showcase will present a carefully curated selection of historically significant documents drawn from the institution’s vast and unique archival repository. The exhibition will be open to the public from 1 to 14 April, between 10 am and 5 pm, at the PMML Back Foyer, PMS-1, Teen Murti Bhawan.

Among the highlights are Mahatma Gandhi’s 1932 letter to Bapsybanoo Pavry reflecting on spiritual unity, the original handwritten draft of Jawaharlal Nehru’s iconic “Tryst with Destiny” speech from 1947, and a series of letters exchanged between Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Jayaprakash Narayan, and NM Ghatate during the Emergency years (1975–1976). The exhibition will also feature correspondence from former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Anna Hazare in 2012, offering a glimpse into more recent political discourse. Housing over 25 million documents across more than 1,300 individual and institutional collections.
