Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reacted strongly to allegations of irregularities in donations at Badrinath Temple, calling the alleged act a serious offence against religious sentiments.

He said any misuse of devotees’ offerings at the revered shrine would be considered a grave wrongdoing, stressing that strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty.

The controversy emerged after allegations surfaced regarding the handling of donations at Badrinath Dham. The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has constituted a four-member inquiry panel to investigate the claims and examine available evidence, including CCTV footage and statements from concerned individuals.

The committee has said that if anyone is found responsible after the investigation, strict departmental and legal action will be initiated. Officials have also appealed to devotees and the public to avoid spreading unverified information until the inquiry is completed.

The allegations have triggered political reactions in Uttarakhand, with opposition parties demanding accountability and transparency in the management of temple donations.
