After weeks of silence, Hrithik Roshan has finally spoken about the underwhelming box office performance of War 2. Despite its massive ₹400 crore budget, star-studded cast including Jr NTR and Kiara Advani, and high expectations following the blockbuster success of the 2019 original, the sequel failed to recover costs, finishing with a lifetime collection of ₹364 crore.

In a heartfelt note shared alongside behind-the-scenes photos, Hrithik admitted that playing Kabir in War 2 felt both enjoyable and strangely unsettling. “Playing Kabir was so much fun. So relaxed, knew him so well. It was going to be easy,” he wrote, describing the shoot as one of the smoothest of his career. He praised director Ayan Mukerji’s energy on set and recalled how everything appeared flawless, making the film feel like a “sure shot.”

Yet, beneath that surface calm, Hrithik confessed he had nagging doubts. “Something was lurking behind that presumptuous certainty. A voice I kept shutting out—‘This is too easy… I know this too well,’” he revealed. He admitted another part of him rationalized the comfort, telling himself that not every film had to involve trauma, struggle, or an endless pursuit of perfection.

The actor, known for pushing himself through grueling roles in films like Vikram VedhaSuper 30, and Koi Mil Gaya, suggested that perhaps the ease of War 2 left him creatively unchallenged. His reflections highlight the inner conflict many performers face between comfort and artistic growth.

Fans, however, responded with overwhelming support. One wrote, “Movie flop ho gayi, but mere liye to hit hai, Duggu sir,” while others hailed him as a legend, praising his honesty and resilience. For many, Hrithik’s candid acknowledgment of doubt and growth has only deepened their admiration for him, regardless of the film’s box office outcome.
