Chunky Panday is in high spirits following the smashing success of his nephew Ahaan Panday’s debut film Saiyaara. Directed by Mohit Suri and co-starring Aneet Padda, the film has turned into a global sensation, collecting over Rs 550 crore worldwide. While the entire Panday family is celebrating, Chunky’s enthusiasm for Ahaan’s milestone moment recently became the subject of a lighthearted tease by filmmaker Farah Khan.
In her latest vlog, Farah visited Chunky’s home and noticed just how thrilled he was about Saiyaara. Jokingly, she said that nobody—not even the film’s director Mohit Suri, producer Aditya Chopra, or Ahaan’s father—seemed as overjoyed as Chunky himself. She even teased him for appearing more vocal about Ahaan’s success than about his daughter Ananya Panday’s growing achievements in Bollywood.
Chunky responded with his trademark humor, recalling his younger days when Farah admitted she once had a crush on him. But when it came to the serious question, he clarified that his pride in Ananya is just as strong, though expressed differently. “I am very happy about her success too, but I don’t show it much. With Ananya, I feel more protective and nervous,” he explained. He also admitted he never expected Saiyaara to become such a phenomenon, which is why his excitement has been especially visible.
Reflecting on the journey of the younger generation, Chunky fondly remembered how family celebrations once revolved around small milestones like talking or walking, and how watching them now succeed on the big screen feels like an extension of those proud moments. He emphasized that both Ahaan and Ananya bring him equal joy, even if his reactions sometimes appear different.
As for Ananya, she is gearing up for her next big release opposite Kartik Aaryan in Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, directed by Sameer Vidwans. Also starring Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta, the film is slated for release on December 31 and is expected to draw significant attention during the holiday season.
